708–2962 m

Garmisch-Partenkirchen's skiing is split across two physically separate, unconnected sectors: the mid-mountain Garmisch-Classic area (Hausberg/Kreuzeck/Alpspitze, 740–2,050 m, 40 km of piste) and the high-altitude Zugspitze glacier plateau (Zugspitzplatt, up to 2,962 m, 20 km of piste), joined only by a combined lift ticket, not by skiable terrain. No independently verifiable single combined piste-km total exists for the resort as a whole.

It has two genuine reversible aerial tramways — the record-setting 2017 Zugspitzbahn from Eibsee, with the longest unsupported single span of any cable car in the world, and the 1973 Alpspitzbahn to Osterfelderkopf — alongside several gondolas.

True cable cars (aerial tramways)

Gondolas and chairlifts are listed above under Notable lifts. These are specifically two-station reversible aerial tramways — a distinct lift type.

What the sources say

Every note below is drawn from the resort's own or an independent official publication.

No single official combined piste-km figure exists for the whole resort — the 60 km 'Twin Ticket' figure is a bundled-ticket marketing figure covering two unconnected sectors (Garmisch-Classic and the Zugspitze glacier plateau), not a stated contiguous-terrain total, so total and difficulty-split figures are left null rather than summed.
The Zugspitzbahn (Eibsee–Zugspitze) is confirmed as a true reversible tramway even after its 2017 rebuild, not a conversion to a gondola.
Night skiing was not independently confirmed for either sector and is not claimed.
